Christmas robots advent calendar

Everyone loves robots, right? The nice robots of the good old days, of course, not some shape-shifting terminator bent on the destruction of mankind. So since Christmas is drawing near, for those of you who can’t wait, here is a vintage robot advent calendar. You can buy the whole set, but there are also three free printables at the bottom of this post.

24 little robot-shaped boxes. There are 12 basic robot types, with two different designs for each. Each robot doubles as a box, with an average height of about 9cm (3 1/2 “) – some are taller, others are more stocky. The boxes are perfect for holding candy or other little surprises.

Meet the gang:

Goofbot prints wish lists on demand and can tell you exactly how long it still is until Christmas’ Eve:

Baublebot can optionally be put on a Christmas tree (although he prefers to hang out on the couch):

Herbert the Android really loves to help you with Christmas decorations:

Frostybot will deliver presents through sleet and snow – unless his wheels get stuck, that is:

Strongbot does the heavy lifting when it comes to Christmas decorations:

Stardroid is charged for Christmas:

Brainy, on the other hand, is more contemplative:

Fridgebot is always a bit cold:

Coolbot isn’t likely to admit it, but thinking of Christmas makes him all warm and fuzzy inside:

Autopresent rolls in when it’s time for the presents – the one thing he can’t do, though, is to unwrap himself:

Carolbot can play you any Christmas carol you can think of, but being old school, he only uses magnetic tape, so allow some time for spooling to the right track:

And here is Nutcrackoid, going nuts over all the Christmas preparations he still has to do:

Baublebot in his golden outfit:

Herbert the Android in classic black and white. This one was a giveaway to audiences at the original opening of Metropolis in 1927 – in a parallel universe, that is:

Goofbot’s second version:

Lightr is helping with stringing together festive Christmas lights:

Retrohexabot likes it simple and classic:

Nutcrackoid’s second outfit:

Treebot got a bit entangled in the Christmas decoration:

Here is Frostybot in green:

Did you meet Autopresent Mk. II, now in gold:

Snowdroid:

Christmas Cracker Bot:

And finally, the golden version of Strongbot:

You can buy the whole set as a digital download from my Etsy store. And here are three samples for free. Each one contains three pages – a fully colored one with the number included, a colored one without the number, and a blank one for coloring in:
